Its Olympic grand opening day today and it is also a shitty day for me. Not relaxing in the middle of the living room with foot massage this time. Today, i’m assigned to be in charge of the ’staff cafeteria’ which also happen to be the ‘on-off lousy internet surfing’ duty. Work is getting shittier each day cos of some self-claimed ‘PROFESSIONALS’. Long story but i shall jus summarize it to just get it out of me.
Ever since i got here, the management team didnt show enough professionalism in handling the whole event (but the staff working are stil cool..thank god) A lot of things could be carried out in a better manner but so far there are a lot of hiccups and most of it are minor ones but after 2 weeks of continuous minor hiccups (same ones) it somehow is getting not so minor anymore.
And the management team, should i be specific??? are so NOT PROFESSIONAL because they play the revenge game. regardless of how good you can work or how much you can do, it doesnt matter anymore if u somehow are better than them. The best way for them to deal with situations like this is to send you away so that you will be hiding somewhere secretive doing job that noone wants to.
I’m seriously thinking of quitting this shit but i have not made up my mind yet. should i just stick with this shit hole and just stay on with whatever shit they throw at me (pardon all the *shit* people) and at the end go home and forget about the whole thing OR i could *let hell breaks loose*, pNA, personal communication;2008 then just walk away & have the rest of my days in Beijing to myself, visit gloria n edu mayb? (they havent reimburse me my flight ticket…. hmm… *thinking*) Any suggestion what is the best way of dealing the situation??
(Est: btw i didnt manage to get edu’s contact.. u have???)
Ok…. now i have some loads of dirty stuff to clear away and set up again for the next meal…
Till the next free time again. I cant upload any photos cos i dont have my cable here and there isnt that much of photos plus most of it are jus photos of food that i’ve tried so far and photos of me looking like i’m only on holidays no work at all………
*hope to finish early today and go home for the opening ceremony but anyway jus outside my cafeteria, live telecast that noone from the house would be free to watch* *whistling happily to myself and the walls*
Hello people… Ni hau!!
This post is now being typed out while i’m having my foot massage rite in the middle of my apartment’s living room.. total relaxation. Sounds good huh but the other days that i’m not doin this, i’m working my ass off in the House Of Switzerland.
Well to cut the intro short, i would jus link what Mr Caldwell has already blog about.. and there are some pictures too… –>*HoS*
There should be no pictures in this post due to the extensive work hours that i’m having here. Its slavery, but again we are in China.. I’m here already here in Beijing for one and a half weeks and i;ve only manage to get my feet to silk street which is a shopping paradise for cheap and also pirated stuff.. and HouHai, a lake with alot of bars and also good small restaurants. apart from that its always working and working setting up the House. The whole House was a mess (even now) due to the late completion by the construction workers. (i blame it to the organisers being too nice and not push for the due date.) most of us arrive here expecting things to be ready for work but the whole interior of the house is still under construction and we service people have nth much to do as we cant do anything because of all the dirt. We polish milions of glasses just to get it all dusty again the next day even though we use lotsa cling wrap to ‘protect’ ‘em..
So, since its slavery here, of course we dont get off work jus because we have nth to do in the service side. Most of us were being sent to the kitchen to help out. (for one week i was Chef Wong hahhahahahahahahha) i had so much fun in the kitchen despite the long working hours. Everyone in the kitchen is soo coooolll.. (Mr Hor, just for your info, i didnt turn potatoes only ok,..i also peeled some onions and sauted some.. hhahha and some other mise en place as well…)
Olympic is supposed to be a BIG thing but so far i’m here, i havent have or felt anything yet. The tv is airing so many updates that is nowhere to be seen. The only feel was few days ago when the Swiss atheletes arrived..(even though i’m busy running around like a mad chicken, i still notices la…) on the streets are all quiet and normal. the people are also normal with no special olympic atmosphere..dont really know how to explain it..its weird..
Apart from work and minor complaints on the hazy weather almost everyday. Its damn hot here and pollution is so so so terrible. How la Olympics gonna happen??? i really wonder sometimes. yesterday was the only day i could see blue skies, only awhile..The only good thing here for the time being is the apartment we are staying. its so comfy and furnished basically.. and centralized air conditioned haha..
ok the foot massage is done, and i’m gonna go get ready to leave for the city to meet my aunt for dinner.. lets hope that i dont get lost somewhere near Suzhou hahaha.. (the taxi drivers here are always great, they will say they know the place and later after 15 – 20mins ride they will ask where is the location that we wana go and then we get lost and then we spend another 15 mins in the taxi going round n round.. but normally it only cost about 30RMb for all four people so we wont mind so much. hahah)
Tschuss zusammen!!
