The trip to Hanoi gave me a chance to see and feel the different culture of the locals. I’m really fascinated by the way of living and the strong bond among Vietnamese. They are always willing to help each other out with all that they can. I bet its hard to find friends like that in our community. I’m not saying its immpossible but its hard. I really felt blessed to have known these great friends…–>

I’ve known these people for not more than 5 years and they are like brothers to me. Great dudes!!! Cheers…

As for my other precious friends, here are a few that meant so much to me..(if you dont see your photos up.. doesnt mean you dont mean anything to me.. jus that i dont hav photos with me or its a long list to finish with..)

First up, the SuperBlur gurl that brings headache, toothache and also heartache but in the end of the day,she smiles at you and it will all be okay.

Blurr Sotong Esther..

When i’m lost and need advises, this is one of the people i can rely on for some positive and motivational advises. Its great to know she always ready to lend a shoulder when you need one.

Next on will be the horny frog that is far away from home now. (everyone is missing u kev) This guy is really good with his words can melt anyones heart weh.. Its not a big suprise that he is one of the heart throb in college days. The person that gave me the nickname ‘miss cry-baby’ and also the only person that chat with me in hokkien. Cute rite??

IMG_1975.JPG

Funny guy that everyone would enjoy having him around. ‘Chi Bai Kev’ (as in Chinese and Bai okai.. now dont go thinkin too far kay!)

The first stranger that shared the same room with me during my early years in college. The fact that we stayed in the same house, same room but different bed, this gurl knows hell lots of things bout me..{sheeshhhhh dont tell anyone k.} The rainy nights when its hard for me to sleep alone, there are always extra space for me on her bed. She is one beauty queen that knows the latest fashion to make up stuff. Hmm i still have a very long list of people to go but how to finish la rite?? so i shall end with one more person that i really cherish.

This person shares my ups and downs. On rainy days or sunny days he will be around. Always treat me like a princess and brought laughters to me.

Mr Chia Devil…

@#$#@$ so many photos how to finish everything la…???? !@$#$$!#

Our initial itinerary was only to Halong Bay and Catba Island with one night in a hotel in Catba and another night on a boat in Halong Bay. But when we got to know a few other gurls and bonded almost immediately we decided to change (We actually got conned) to spend a night in Tung Jiu island and gav up the night on the boat.

Here are more photos from the trip, and how we got conned.

IMG_2035.JPG

Upon reaching Halong Bay, we had our lunch on the boat and both me n Esther were seated with three other gurls. Two Thais and a Vietnamese. As five of us were the only “X generation” people its natural for us to befriend easily. Andy persuaded us to change our itinerary so we could click together the entire trip. So we discussed bout it and said we will decide by the end of the day.

IMG_2032.JPG

The boat departing from Halong Bay. The place was so foggy i dunno why. i thought its Haze but according to the tour guide, its not. (maybe he dont even know what haze meant)

IMG_2076.JPG

Jungle trek into some caves.

IMG_2167.JPG

Then off on the boat again.

IMG_2203.JPG

Five young ladies photo session. This is only breaking the ice session.

IMG_2235.JPG

IMG_2232.JPG

Reach Catba in the evening and we were left for free and easy time till the nex morning. Went for a swim in the beach nearby but din bring along the camera. Then later at nite we went yumcha.

IMG_2259.JPG

Yumcha also meant ‘YumChao’ (alchohol session) in Vietnam. The Hanoi beer is nice and esther got addicted to it. Imagine….

IMG_2256.JPG

(esther, hopefully ur mom wont accidentally view this…)

IMG_2262.JPG

Next morning after breakfast, off again on the boat to Tung Jiu island.

This time the boat cruised slowly and stopped at one place and let us jump into the sea for a swim..or some just like lazing on board.

IMG_2265.JPG

I for one, sure go swim la..even though deep deep water.. simply jump in.. hehehe..

IMG_2281.JPG

Those ang mo guys jumped from the third deck whereby i only jumped from the first deck and took bout 5 minutes to overcome the fear of jumping.

IMG_2279.JPG

The brave ang mos.

After that, we were sent to this isolated island with noone but us in this building middle of nowhere.

IMG_2396.JPG

Thats Tung Jiu Island…….. Total dissapointment so jus rest and relax the whole day.

They hav this area where people have to pay to enter and pay for every other thing they provide. They have dolphin show, crocodile farm and musical fountain. Thats the main attraction la konon. Then there is this beach area where you have to pay for even sitting and sunbathin.. Gosh i hate that place. Swimming area is even smaller than the kids wading pool…GERAM NESSSSS…

IMG_2329.JPG

Luckily they didnt charged us for taking photos…

IMG_2336.JPG

Long beach huh?? but NO TRESPASSING!!!! !@#@!!@#!#@!# *Adding to my geram ness* @#$@$@$#@

IMG_2345.JPG

We hav no choice but to head bk to the hotel. So along the way back, we snap and snap and snap as thats the only thing they didnt ask us to pay for…

IMG_2351.JPG

There is a Cinderella carriage..

IMG_2352.JPG

Big rock.. in the middle of the way for whatever reasons i dont know..

IMG_2385.JPG

IMG_2388.JPG

I thought we were in Tung Jiu Island.. How come Saigon sign board ????
IMG_2389.JPG

Speechlesssssssss

Finally here i am sitting in front of the pc thinking hard where to start off. Many complaints received and it somehow told me that i have to start somewhere and make it on the go again… Some eager for the Vietnam trip update, some for the small trips around that had kept me occupied for the last two months and some wants to know what happened to me recently and what caused the MIA.. so where should i start??

Might as well start with something that is still fresh in my memory aka the Hanoi trip beginning of last month. Continuing to the previous post i typed out in Hanoi city itself, i’ll recap a lil of the Vietnam trip and top it up with the photos.

IMG_1711.JPG

One of the handsome that made our stay so memorable.

One thing i missed the most from Hanoi apart from the two guys and a wife is the FOOD! We ate so much yummy food as we get by day by day. From breakfast till supper. People there eats everything..when i say EVERYTHING i mean EVERYTHING. (sorry minh, but i have to repeat the dog story again) From things as small as the snail to something as big a doggy. maybe there are more, just that we are not aware off.. On the way to Hung’s House on the 3rd day, i actually saw a ‘barbecued’ dog by the road side on a chopping board. Scared the hell out of me but its their culture so have to tolerate. They have this ‘dog meat’ place that we didn’t visit, according to minh they serves all kind of cooking method, be it deep fried, barbequed, in soup..you name it they have it…..K nuff said time for some pictures of yummylicious food.

IMG_1712.JPG

The ‘wrap ourself’ spring rolls.

IMG_1717.JPG

The snail noodle that is one of the ‘MUST TRY’ item.

IMG_1760.JPG

Deep fried spring rolls in smaller sizes. Whatever size it is..its still yummy and thats the main point!

IMG_1773.JPG
Check out the prawns.

IMG_1768.JPG

The traditional Vietnamese salad.

After the heavy meals, some cold desserts just completes the whole meal…

IMG_1794.JPG

Mixed fruit with milk and coconut milk (by the road side on the small stool duh)

Ok Ok nuff bout food?? I think its bout time to get on with some picture of sceneries and ME..(there are more food blog later kkk….)

IMG_1743.JPG

Navigating the map is not the main prob in Hanoi and better still when you don’t need a map to move around as the local tour guide will bring u to the places u wanna visit. Cool huh??? Thanks to Minh and Nghiep for the hospitality provided. So we went around on the bike which is freaking scary. Imagine the traffic are so complicated that u find motorcycles coming from every freaking directions. Luckily we came home in one piece.

IMG_1812.JPG

A ride at nite (notice the imbalance of the traffic, so many motorcycles in the on coming direction.)

IMG_1824.JPG

IMG_1841.JPG

Back to the photos. As my previous post, i went to Halong Bay and Catba Island and here are some photos of it…—>
